  1.                       DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE

  3.       Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  4.    before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
  5.    using it, you are expected to register. Individual programs
  6.    differ on details -- some request registration while others
  7.    require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With
  8.    registration, you get anything from the simple right to 
  9.    continue using the software to an updated program with printed 
  10.    manual.

  12.       Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial 
  13.    software, and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a 
  14.    few specific exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are 
  15.    accomplished programmers, just like commercial authors, and the 
  16.    programs are of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are 
  17.    good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in the 
  18.    method of distribution. The author specifically grants the 
  19.    right to copy and distribute the software, either to all and 
  20.    sundry or to a specific group. For example, some authors 
  21.    require written permission before a commercial disk vendor may 
  22.    copy their Shareware.

  24.       Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. 
  25.    You should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
  26.    whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system 
  27.    makes fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you 
  28.    buy. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also.

  86.     evaluation purposes) or for other individuals to evaluate, ONLY

  90.     material listed in the PACKING.LST text file.  If any files
  91.     listed in the PACKING.LST text file, or the PACKING.LST file
  92.     itself, are missing, then the package is not complete and
  93.     distribution is forbidden.  Please contact us to obtain a
  94.     complete package suitable for distribution.

  96.     o  The Full Pack package - including all related program
  97.        files and documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any
  98.        way and must be distributed as a complete package, without
  99.        exception.  The PACKING.LST text file contains a list of
  100.        all files that are part of the Full Pack package.

  102.     o  No price or other compensation may be charged for the
  103.        Full Pack package.  A distribution cost may be
  104.        charged for the cost of the diskette, shipping and
  105.        handling, as long as the total (per disk) does not exceed
  106.        US$15.00 in the U.S. and Canada, or US$20.00
  107.        internationally.

  109.     o  The Full Pack package CANNOT be sold as part of some
  110.        other inclusive package.  Nor can it be included in any
  111.        commercial software packaging offer, without a written
  112.        agreement from Bruce R. O'Banion.

  114.     o  The User's Guide may not be reproduced in whole or
  115.        in part, using any means, without the written permission
  116.        of Bruce R. O'Banion.  In other words, the disk-based
  117.        documentation may not be distributed in PRINTED (hardcopy)
  118.        form.

  120.     o  The Full Pack package cannot be "rented" or "leased"
  121.        to others.

  123.     o  Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify,
  124.        decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or
  125.        transfer the licensed program except as provided in this

  134.     Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add the Simple 
  135.     Windows package to their disk library may do so in accordance 
  136.     with the Distribution Restrictions listed below.

  141.     As the exclusive copyright holder for Full Pack, Bruce R. 
  142.     O'Banion authorizes distribution only in accordance with the

  145.     ASP Approved Vendors in good standing are hereby given 
  146.     permission to distribute Full Pack package.  Non-ASP 
  147.     member vendors are requested to ask permission prior to 
  148.     distributing this package.

  150.     The Full Pack package is defined as containing all the
